Governance

The terminology ‘Governance’ refers the processes of governing. The government formulates policies, acts, rules and regulations as well as directives to govern the people and the entities residing within the country. In context of Nepal, an unstable government and governing policies for several years, the increasing trend of unemployment, domestic and international migration for the work and studies do not indicate a ‘good governance’ for a couple of decades. However, each government established after the revolution of 1990 assumed that it offered a ‘Good Government’ than the others.
To this end, the MaDRA conducted a Feasibility Study on Establishing Single Revenue (Tax) Code for Simplification of Revenue Collection from tax Payers in Nepal, prepared a guideline for Planning Entities in Sub-National Government, developed an operational procedures and country system of federal Nepal for the mobilization of Development Cooperation in Nepal, and among others. The objectives of the studies were related to: enhancing allocation efficiency, spending better, and collecting more.
