The Constitution of Nepal recognizes healthcare as a fundamental right of the Nepalese people. With the development of new technologies and the instruments plenty of new diseases are also appearing in the world. Whenever any diseases outbreaks in Nepal the GoN has prioritized to: notify the people about the epidemic diseases, sharing of precaution methods, and deployment of efficient health workforce with the required instruments and the medicines.
The MaDRA assessed the human resources and its’ real-time management system in the GoN health serves, including the health councils, applied in Federal to Local Level in 2019 with the support of the World Health Organization. Similarly, in the same year, it had provided Local Support for Capacity Building to Manage Nepal Health Workforce Registry and HRMIS Using iHRIS . Furthermore, it had provided the Technical Assistance to Conduct Human Resources for Health (HRH) Retention Case Study in 2021. The prime objective of the first two projects was to identify the real-time status of the health workforce who can be deputed/assigned for the emergency health services based on their expertise. The objective of the third project was to conduct a case study of the health workforces retained in GoN health services among 21 districts of all seven provinces covering Terai to Himalayan regions. The MaDRA successfully conducted aforementioned projects within the stipulated time and resource framework.
